One of Australia’s most humble and innately talented winemakers, Luke Lambert consistently produces a stunning array of Yarra Valley wines. Lambert believes the shape of a wine should be governed by what soil you’re on, the aspect, the amount of sunshine and rain.” In other words, the personality of a wine will be dictated by its “place”.
We're delighted to welcome this highly anticipated 2023 Lambert Crudo Chardonnay a wine that always attracts plenty of attention. A wine as composed, refined, chiselled and elegant as many with a loftier price tag. A picture of balance and harmony, it’s springtime fresh, with pure, ripe fruit flavours accented by white flowers and deep, stony minerals. It sits beautifully on the palate, composed and flowing to a long, seamless finish.
"94 Points. Tasted alongside the LL Chardonnay of the same vintage, and gee, they are quite different expressions of the grape. A whole lot of umami flavour on offer here. It’s saline and quite wild, chicken stock with a subtle fino sherry character, also some chamomile perfume. The fruit flavours play second fiddle here, though it does have preserved lemon, Japanese ginger, green apple and pear (of the same colour). Shows a tickle of spritz too, and some Disprin/ Eno character too, which I like. Finish is zippy, yet nutty, and offers excellent length. So distinctive. Excellent. Tasted: Mar24 12.5% alc. $35 Closure: Diam Drink: 2024 - 2030"- Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
