Established in 1850 by English migrant Frank Potts, Bleasdale remains one of Australia's most loved and acclaimed wineries. This founding Langhorne Creek winery continues to draw high acclaim, including being named 'Winery Of The Year' in the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion.
Bleasdale's Bremerview Shiraz has established a reputation for delivery an exceptional value Shiraz and the 2021 is again in brilliant form having already collected Gold Medals at the '2022 Melbourne Royal Wine Show' and the 2023 National Wine Show. An impressive expression of Langhorne Creek Shiraz, this is a medium bodied wine showing intense lifted spice aromas and dark berry fruit. The palate is long and silky with fine tannins and juicy plum and blackberry fruits; super value red wine drinking at this price.
"95 Points. Frank Potts created a system of locks and weirs to provide flood irrigation from inception in 1850, and Bleasdale's Bremerview vineyard still uses that system. Destemmed, open fermented, matured for 12 months in French puncheons (10% new). The wine is ridiculously good value at this price, with the warming gentle palate of Langhorne Creek: plum, dark berry fruit and just enough soft tannin. Gold medals Melbourne Royal Wine Awards and Rutherglen Wine Show ’22. Screwcap. $22. 13.5% alc. Drink: 2023 - 2036"- James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au.
"92 Points. There is never an issue with the depth of red wine colour achieved in Langhorne Creek. Bremerview delivers in the deepest of eye-catching purples. Some lovely aromatics follow on the bouquet in violet and lilac with backing spices, black fruits and plum. It’s a fresh and fruit-forward kind of Shiraz which will be rewarded with early drinking... or not. Bremerview is versatile enough to meet the needs of the drink-now gen as well as the wait-and-see gen. It’s your call. Easy going on the palate dressed in red and black fruits, tilled earth, vanilla and woodsy spice, nicely integrated in earthy tannins, all working together hard to deliver plenty of varietal impact. And it’s delicious. Drink: 2023 - 2030. $22"- Jeni Port, winepilot.com.
