95 Points - Jane Faulkner
Established in 1850 by English migrant Frank Potts, Bleasdale remains one of Australia's most loved and acclaimed wineries. This founding Langhorne Creek winery continues to draw high acclaim, including being named 'Winery Of The Year' in the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion.
This 2023 Bleasdale Generations Shiraz offers plenty of ripe plums and dark berry flavours, layered with liquorice, pepper and fresh spices. Drinking well now, but with the potential to be a long term cellaring prospect if desired.
"95 Points. For the price, for the quality, hard to beat. A gorgeous dark purple hue. Fruit the same colour - all plums and currants, which come lightly spiced with licorice, mint and some cedary oak. Nothing out of place, the tannins ripe and supple, the acidity cleansing, the palate assured and just medium bodied. Langhorne Creek and shiraz, they are simpatico. 13.5% alc. Drink: 2025 - 2035. Screwcap"- Jane Faulkner, winecompanion.com.au.
