Mr Mick' is an impressive range of wines by Tim Adams; one of Australia's most talented winemakers. The range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams.
This 2016 Mr Mick Cabernet Merlot is another cracking release of this enormously popular Clare Valley red wine. This classic varietal blend has soft tannins with aromas and flavours of violet flowers, plum, coffee and dark chocolate. It will match perfectly with a range of red meat dishes, and at this price offers super value drinking.
"With the extra time in bottle this little guy is starting to show some interesting, slightly developed characters that bring a new dimension to a value for money wine. Smooth and succulent with a gently leathery spicy overlay to the medium weight dark chocolate and toasty primary characters. 90 Points. $17. Drink: 2021-2024"- Ray Jordan, winepilot.com.
"You’re doing pretty well for $17. This is in a good drinking spot right now, fresh with dark, curranty, earthen fruit flavour but with a touch of bottle development too: you get the grunt and also you get the mellow. Mint/gum leaf top notes, redcurrant and sultana, maybe some violets. But really it’s just a solid red wine at a most attractive price, with decent tannin structure too. 89 Points Tasted: Jan22 14% alc. $17 Screwcap Drink: 2021 - 2026+"- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
