"96 Points. A bright, elegant, complex wine with subtle spiciness and driven by its fruit - oak is very much understated. Vibrant palate, beautifully balanced and lovely to drink young, although it will surely age well. (20% whole-bunch; aged 10 months in seasoned oak barriques, French and American). Drink to 2033"- Huon Hooke, The Real Review, September 13, 2019.
"93 Points. Savoury-styled shiraz/ syrah boasting texture, flavour and length. This is in a good place. Cherry-plum flavour with briar, peppercorn and smoked meat inflections. 20% whole bunches have added a nutty, twiggy element but the fruit continues to sweep confidently through. Now or later. 13.5% alc. Drink by: 2028. Screw cap. Tasted: 12 Feb 2020."- Campbell Mattinson, winecompanion.com.au.
"93 Points. Always good to see wines which have the benefit of a few years ageing by the winery before release (if you are wondering about this, consider that this Yarra Valley Shiraz, or Syrah in this case as they prefer to name it, has been given the same period of cellar ageing as the current release of Grange, which comes with a price tag 25 times that of this wine). Deep maroon/purple in colour, this is very much of the savoury style. Notes of cassis, leather, cloves, dark berries, animal skins, dry herbs and a hint of chocolate. A seamless, mid-weight wine with gentle acidity and very good length. The fruit continues for the full journey with good persistence. This should drink well for another half dozen years. 93 Points. $40. Drink: 2023 - 2029."- Ken Gargett, winepilot.com.
