The Bec Hardy Pinot Noir is made from grapes grown on a 43 year old single vineyard just outside South Australia's McLaren Vale. This long established vines make for wonderfully balanced and high quality grapes.
The 2025 Bec Hardy Pinot Noir is a wine of immediate appeal, opening with aromas of lifted bright cherry fruit, raspberry with elegant spicy notes. These cherry notes follow onto the medium-bodied palate along with dark berries and earthy spice. Soft oak tannins complement the fruit structure and contribute length and complexity to the finish. An approachable Pinot Noir, with generous, vibrant fruit, this will offer plenty of enjoyment in the short to medium-term.
"93 Points. Bright ruby with excellent clarity. Fragrant aromatics of red cherry and wild strawberry with hints of spice. Medium-bodied and finely textured, the palate delivers pure red fruits with notes of rhubarb, raspberries and plums. Silky tannins and lively acidity provide structure and flow, leading to a smooth, savoury and persistent finish. A refined Pinot Noir showing purity, balance and finesse."- Vino Masters.
"The fruit for this rather delicious, if possibly a little simple, Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard called The Osmond’s ‘Clay Creek’ block, just outside McLaren Flat. The vines are in their 5th decade, impressive for the region. Actually, reasonably impressive for any region in Australia. The grapes were destemmed and fermented on skins before being pressed to older oak for a three-month maturation. Mauve/purple in colour with a crimson rim, this is a lovely, fresh wine with lifted aromas. On the nose we have notes of cherries, wild raspberries, fresh garden herbs and a touch of tinned beetroot. A bright and slightly zesty style, seamless in texture, with sleek tannins, there is lots to like here and it will drink well over the next two to three years. Those looking for flavour and immediate gratification ahead of complexity and years in the cellar will find a home here. 92 Points. $30. Drink: 2026 - 2029"- Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot.
