95 Points - James Halliday
Sons of Eden is one of the Barossa's brightest young wineries, committed to delivering wines with flavour and personality from vineyards throughout this famous wine region. Consistently one of our most popular Barossa Shiraz, the 2020 vintage of Marschall Shiraz is again in cracking form.
Made as a modern interpretation of the classic Barossa style; the 2020 Sons Of Eden Marschall opens with lovely lifted ripe blueberry and red licorice notes on the nose. The palate is vibrant, juicy and fresh, while offering the depth, fruit-weight and oak you'd expect in a high-quality Barossa Shiraz. A Shiraz that offers sensational value drinking in its youth, this is likely to only get better over the coming decade.

"2020 was not the easiest vintage in the Barossa and this is a good effort. It’s deeply coloured to start and then has some quite serious upfront fruit impact - layers of dark fruit pastilles are wound up with toasty oak in a style with wide appeal. There is a real juiciness to the fruit too on the palate - sappy cherry fruits and blackberries before finishing on a more muscular theme with oak tannins coming into the frame. It’s a little edgy right now but will settle down very nicely indeed over the next two or three years. But if you do want to drink it young, bring out a rump steak. 92 Points. $29"- Angus Hughson, winepilot.com.
