96 Points - James Halliday
As the site of the first grape plantings in Western Australia's Great Southern region, Forest Hill is one of the pioneers of cool-climate winemaking in WA. Forest Hill's collection of Estate wines are always impressive and deliver remarkable value drinking.
The 2022 Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Shiraz opens with bright lifted fruit, with aromas of blackberries, cherries, cracked pepper and roses. The palate is medium bodied, elegant and plush with plenty of dark berry fruit and spice and a beautiful, fresh tannin profile. Another impressive Great Southern Shiraz from Forest Hill that has huge appeal at this price.
"96 Points. From a blend of Estate Sites, including Block 9 planted in 1965, its deep colour introduces a shiraz with an almost endless array of fragrant blackberry fruits, licorice, plum and spices."- James Halliday, The Weekend Australian Magazine, 04 Nov 2023.
