Located on the western slopes of Mt Camel Range, Tellurian has emerged as one of the flagship producers of the Heathcote wine region, with an impressive array of Shiraz leading the charge.
The 2024 Tellurian Evo Shiraz is a vibrant, medium-bodied style designed for early drinking. Organically grown, hand-crafted and bottled at Tellurian's winery and vineyard on the unique red-soil slopes of Heathcote. With a focus on bright red fruit flavours combined with subtle oak, the Heathcote Shiraz is combined with a splash of Mourvedre to add a spicy lift and savoury complexity. Another impressive Heathcote Shiraz from Tellurian that is sure to have wide appeal.
"92 Points. D90/10% shiraz/mourvèdre. The producer sees EVO as a modern take on Heathcote shiraz with some support from a 'splash' of mourvèdre. It certainly rates high in drinkability and capitalises on the spiciness of the two grapes as well as the natural balance and minerality inherent to the region's ancient Cambrian soils. Medium bodied and ripe fruited in blackberry, dark plum, blueberries, chocolate, licorice, aniseed, black pepper and lively in spice and earth; it remains open, generous in flavour with a fine grained texture. Plenty to enjoy upon release and after. Drink to 2026-2036. 14.5% alc. Screwcap. $35"- Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion
