Leeuwin Estate has been in rare form lately with a string of favourable vintages allowing it to produce some wonderful examples of Margaret River Shiraz under the 'Art Series' label.
The 2024 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Shiraz is fragrant and perfumed highlighted by violets and rose petal notes. Layered, luscious and concentrated, the palate delivers plenty of primary fruit flavours of blueberries and mulberries, with plenty of vibrancy and natural acidity through to the long, balanced finish. Another top-line Margaret River Shiraz from Leeuwin Estate that is sure to have plenty of admirers.
"94 Points. This more southern vineyard seems to have handled the warmer '24 vintage very well. The wine is poised and balanced, with lovely fruit weight and intensity. Aromas immediately strike with spicy plum, liquorice, and dark chocolate. And then the palate has a crunchy juiciness about it, with a mix of red fruits and rhubarb. Supported by fine, chalky tannins and integrated oak. In many ways, it's quite a robust wine, but there's also a degree of elegance. And it is yet another step forward in the continuing evolution of shiraz from Leeuwin."- Ray Jordan, rayjordanwine.com.au
