Located in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River, Fraser Gallop continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the region's finest wineries. Unashamedly inspired by the great red wines of Bordeaux, Fraser Gallop's focus on its Cabernet blends is delivering some impressive results.
This 2021 Fraser Gallop Cabernet Merlot is made up of a classic Bordeaux-style blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Medium-bodied, it offers good concentration with plenty of ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and mulberry flavours. With an underlying minerality, fresh acidity and subtle tannins, this offers super value at this limited-time discounted price (RRP $30).
"94 Points. A hand-picked 59/28% blend (with small amounts of cabernet franc and petit verdot) of destemmed, whole berries, 10 to 14 days on skins; matured for nine months in used French barriques. It’s succulent and juicy, awash with cassis, soft tannins quietly holding the wine’s shape. $30. 13.5% alc. Drink to 2030"- James Halliday, Top 100 Wines 2023, The Weekend Australian.
