The 2022 Torbreck Kyloe Mataro offers beautiful aromas of dense wild blackberries, lavender, black olive and cured meats, which are enhanced with a complex array of leather, clove and wild game characters. At the heart of this wine is a soft plump cherry fruit core with a freshness and vivacity that gives the wine focus, line and purity. While offering immense pleasure in its youth, the Kyloe Mataro will likely develop into an even more impressive Barossa red wine with a few more years in the cellar.
"94 Points. As should be expected from the variety, there is a meaty, exotically-framed underbelly to this rich and undeniably drinkable wine. Blueberry and satsuma plum conserve-style fruit tones cut with broody spice and tones of roasting game, sarsaparilla, biltong, struck flint, pressed purple flowers and dried citrus rind.
