Jimmy Watson Trophy Winner - 2025 Melbourne Royal Wine Awards
Located high in Tasmania's Derwent Valley, the Meadowbank vineyard has long been considered as one of Tasmania's most important vineyards, having been a long-time grower for some of the state's biggest names. Now under the winemaking of the highly credentialed Peter Dredge, Meadowbank continue to produce a stunning array of wines.
Made from north-facing parcel of vines planted by Gerald Ellis in 1987, Meadowbank Pinot Noir has established itself as one of Tasmania's most popular examples of Pinot Noir. The 2024 Meadowbank Pinot Noir was recently awarded the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy at the 2025 Melbourne Royal Wine Awards.
This is another stunning example, opening with vibrant strawberry and cherry aromas that leap from the glass. The complex layers of red cherry, raspberry and strawberry flavours are beautifully supported by earthy minerality and lovely savoury undertones on a long, complex finish.
