New Vintage | 95 Points - Bob Campbell
Moss Wood have an internationally recognised reputation for producing some of the finest examples of Cabernet outside of Bordeaux. Designed to be balanced and drinkable as a younger wine, the newly released 2019 Moss Wood Amy's is Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon blended with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot.
The result is a highly appealing red with generous fruit depth, an abundance of varietal blackcurrant, violets and red fruits, with the subtle oak playing a mere support role. A high-quality red wine from one of Australia's leading wineries, this is a wine of enormous appeal particularly at this price.
"95 Points. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec and petit verdot. Deliciously intense red with juicy cassis, plum, blueberry flavours smothering spicy oak characters. Very approachable now but will become even more complex and interesting with bottle age." - Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review.
"95 Points. Deep purple/red colour, bright and vibrant, the aromas likewise vibrant and fresh with attractive blue and red fruits and a high-note of violets. Plenty of detail. The wine is elegant but full-bodied in the mouth, with very good concentration of bright fruit and dried herb flavours, backed up by firm, stylish tannins. The overall impression is of power delivered with elegance. A superb vintage of this wine." - Huon Hooke, The Real Review.
