95 Points - Dave Brookes
The 2022 Spinifex Barossa Syrah follows in the footsteps of previous vintages of this wine, which has proved hugely popular. Made from grapes grown in the higher, cooler sites of the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley, this offers a more restrained rendition of Barossa Shiraz
Incredibly approachable and drinkable in its youth, the 2022 Spinifex Syrah still manages to deliver loads of concentrated fruit flavours and impressive length. A wonderful value red wine from one of the Barossa's most acclaimed winemakers, our limited stocks are likely to go quickly.
"95 Points. Syrah from both the Barossa and Eden Valleys with pure, lush, dark plum, blueberry and mulberry fruit tones with hints of exotic spice, struck flint, dried herbs, wildflowers, crushed granite, charcuterie and dried citrus rinds. Full bodied with a calm, graphite and sage-flecked stony flow on the palate. Jeez, it's easy to drink, with a bright mineral cadence, powdered granitic tannins and just a touch of morello cherry as it slides away. 14% alc. Drink: 2023 - 2025. Screwcap. $35.'- Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion.
