Bellvale was established in 1998 with a determined vision to grow and produce high -quality site expressive Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Located in the lush Tarwin River Valley of South Gippsland, the 19 ha north-facing, dry-grown, high-density vineyard lies 165 to 195 m above sea level on deep red loam of volcanic origin.
This 2025 Bellvale Pinot Gris in an impressive local example that continues the super recent form of this wine. Fragrant and expressive, it opens with aromas of ripe orchard fruits, lifted by delicate florals and a gentle thread of sweet spice. The palate is supple yet vibrant, with concentrated fruit wrapped around a bright line of acidity. It’s a Pinot Gris of generosity and charm, where perfume, texture and energy come together in a beautifully balanced expression of the vineyard.
"This is tight and reserved, in profile, but the mid palate is well flavoured and it has quality written all over it. The new owners of Bellvale have really hit the ground running. Pear, slate, apple, hay, lemongrass and woodsmoke characters ripple throughout, with both texture and energy balanced adroitly. I’d bet on this wine improving over the next 12-24 months too.
