"Hearty and very good." - Gary Walsh
Longhop is the impressive partnership of Domenic Torzi and Tim Freeland; designed to showcase what the Adelaide Plains and adjoining Mt Lofty Ranges regions does best. Sourcing precious old vine "survival plantings" of the 1950's coupled with a non-interventional approach to winemaking, the wines of Longhop are always generously flavoured and packed with personality.
This 2021 Longhop Shiraz is another cracking release, delivering a full bodied red wine with plenty of chocolate, dark plum, leather, mulberry and spice. A wine that will offer plenty of drinking pleasure over the next few years, this is a bargain red at this discounted price.
"93 Points. This is maybe the best Longhop Shiraz to date. Rich black fruit, dark chocolate and new leather, a little sweet spice and tasteful toasty coconut oak. It’s full-bodied, plush and generous in dark fruit, a savoury saline black olive flavour, but juicy in blue and black fruits, firm grainy tannin, and a deep and ripe finish of excellent length. Hearty and very good. Tasted: Nov22. 14.5% alc. $25. Screwcap. Drink: 2022 - 2027+"- Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
