Shaw and Smith has established itself as one of Australia's finest wineries, specialising in the varieties that thrive in the cool-climate of South Australia's Adelaide Hills.
Another exceptional example of Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir, the 2022 Shaw and Smith Pinot Noir is complex and aromatic with black cherry, darker fruits and underlying gamey aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with deceptive power, silky tannins and long-term ageing potential. A Pinot Noir of great flavour and length, our very limited stocks will go quickly.
"95 Points. Bright medium-deep red-purple, youthful colour; the bouquet is spicy and cherry-like, very clean and clear varietally with a hint of whole-bunch, a really delicious fruit-sweet wine. Medium-to full bodied in the pinot spectrum; tannins very present but balanced and supple."- Huon Hooke, The Real Review, 23 March, 2023.
"94 Points. The 2022 release of S+S Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir delivers all the pretty, delicate pristine red wild strawberries it’s known for but with added proportions of blackcurrant, fresh oregano, pink peppercorn and pomegranate. There is spice and funk here in a way that’s …well to be frank …a turn on. Like when you’re on a great first date and are surprised to find out the person is bilingual! Tannins creep up slowly and though not taking the limelight from the fruit just continue to support and show it off to its full potential. This may be the most multidimensional Pinot Noir I’ve seen from this site and I’m locking in that second date now! Drink with wild mushroom risotto and a nonchalant but very deliberate curl of the hair.. $55. Drink: 2024 - 2030."- Shanteh Wale, winepilot.com.
