Over the past two decades, Ravensworth's Bryan Martin has been making some of Australia’s most compelling and highly sought-after wines; first at Clonakilla, then at his own Ravensworth estate perched high in Murrumbateman.
Alongside his Sangiovese and Shiraz Viognier, the Regional Riesling is one of Bryan Martin’s iconic wines. Fruit for the 2025 was harvested early from several vineyards: Long Rail Gully and Nanima in Murrumbateman; Briar Ridge in the Hunter Valley and Ravensworth. The grapes were hand-harvested and processed (no bunches) before being pressed to a mixture of Nico Vwelo concrete tulips, Stockinger fourdre and Flowform ceramic eggs for fermentation at 18-20C. The wine was racked and bottled with no fining or filtrations.
The 2025 Ravensworth Regional Riesling is dry and aromatic with a floral and gently spicy nose that wakes up your senses. On the palate, expect vibrant citrus notes layered with a subtle savoury edge, thanks to careful aging in ceramic, concrete, and large format foudre - giving it texture and depth without losing its lively energy.
"94 Points. This is a savoury-leaning yet scintillating riesling. It doesn’t scrimp on pickled lime, preserved lemon, ginger, lemongrass and green apple scents and then relays the same in concentrated flavours. Green almond calls in, a little jalapeno and white balsamic lift too. Intense, vibrant, exceptional persistence and heaps of character."- Mike Bennie, The Wine Front.
