The palate features red cherry and cranberry notes which are framed with lovely natural acidity and long fine tannins. A beautifully textured wine with plush, persistent length.
“95 Points. A succulent, oh-so-pure, fresh and revitalising pinot noir of compact texture, bright flavour, ebullient perfume, satisfying tannin and lip-smacking deliciousness. It nails the brief. Red cherry, a dusting of sweet spice, some alpine herbs, a touch of cedar and clove with light truffle and mushroom savouriness. A beautiful wine, with perfect pinosity. Fun and wonderful drinking ensues.13.5% Alc, Drink 2025-2035”- Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion.
"94+ Points. The personality of this wine is dry and serious but then the juiciness of the fruit, and the floral notes, keep the fun or sheer enjoyment factor high. Stewed fruits, fistfuls of twiggy spice, violet characters, mint, exuberant red cherry and something more exotic, like earth or wet tobacco leaves or mushrooms. Forest floor is probably the phrase I’m looking for. Ultimately the dry, sinewy aspect of the finish wins out, though the fruit keeps pulsing. Ashton Hills has another hit on its hands here."
