Flametree has set itself as one of the rising stars of the Margaret River with the quality of their wines continuing to rise under the skilled winemaking of Cliff Royle (ex-Voyager Estate).
This 2024 Flametree Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is another fine example this popular Margaret River blend. The nose shows fragrant lychee, lime, lemon grass and stone fruit. The lychee notes and white nectarine provide a burst of flavour on the palate. The grape solids and barrel ferments add nice savoury notes and minerality. Overall a great combination of fruit flavours, fine acidity and a textural finish are the hallmarks of this excellent release.
"92 Points. A wide arching wine filled with blackberry leaf, white pineapple core and lemon oil spritz from the skin. It’s tight wired with thrilling acidity, whilst citrus and apple sorbet continue to give generously. Some cold butter and greek yoghurt line the base flavour, with a hint of honeydew on the finish. Delightfully fresh and energetic and well balanced creating harmony in the two varieties. Drink now with shucked oysters, followed by hot chips and battered fish."- Shanteh Wale, Wine Pilot.
