The 2022 Lake Breeze Bernoota is a blend of Shiraz (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), with grapes carefully selected from old vines on the Follett family vineyard. Matured for 20 months in both American and French oak barriques, this offers impressive fruit intensity, with loads of blackberry, dark plum, licorice with the quality oak playing a nice support role. Another cracking value Bernoota that offers enormous appeal in the short to medium-term.
"92 Points. I tip my hat to Lake Breeze. At all pricepoints, it offers excellent value and excellent wines. They are welcome additions at my table. Regional fruit flavours of choc-mint infusing cassis and blackberries, plums too, lot of brown spices with a hint of pepper. The palate is fuller bodied, coated in plump, ripe tannins, fleshy fruit and fresh acidity. It’s not all fruit here; it’s a little savoury with grip on the finish.
