"Great drinking"- Dave Brookes
Torbreck continues to take advantage of dry-grown, old vines to make some of the Barossa's most demanded wines. Produced from a range of low-yielding vineyards throughout the Barossa, Torbeck's Woodcutters Shiraz is always one of our most popular wines.
As is the popular Woodcutter's style, the 2023 Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz is all about freshness and bright fruit, with aromatic plum and raspberry notes leaping out of the glass. The palate is super approachable with a silky mouthfeel, while offering plenty of fruit intensity and weight with cassis, dark cherry and blueberry flavours supported by subtle spice. Another super Woodcutters Shiraz release from Torbreck, this will offer plenty of drinking pleasure over the next decade.
"93 Points. A harmonious, black-cherry-rich shiraz sourced from the Barossan parishes of Marananga, Greenock, Seppeltsfield, Gomersal, Moppa, Lyndoch and Ebenezer. Satsuma plum, the aforementioned cherries, five-spice, bay leaf, licorice, biltong, citrus blossom and earth. I love the pure, savoury fruit core here, like a tube of black cherry and spice, travelling straight and true with fine tannin support and boundless energy. Great drinking. 15% alc. $29. Drink: 2025 - 2035. Screwcap"- Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion.
