Rosé Of The Year - 2026 Halliday Wine Companion
Based in the Bendigo region of Central Victoria, Sutton Grange have been making some exceptional examples of Rosé with the recent 2022, 2023 and now 2024 vintages being named 'Rosé Of The Year' in the recent Halliday Wine Companions.
Another complex, poised and all-round delicious Rosé, the 2024 Sutton Grange Fairbank Rosé opens with lifted aromatics of raspberries, blood orange, red apples and melon. The palate is textured and layered with plenty of strawberry and raspberry notes, bright acidity and a long, dry finish. A seriously good Australian Rosé that is receiving plenty of well-deserved attention.
"96 Points. Following on from the Halliday Wine Companion Rosé of the Year Award for the '22 and '23 vintages, the '24 has big shoes to fill. It doesn't disappoint. Maintains the pretty-as-a-picture salmon-rose hues and flavours that boast serious rosé cred. A blend of syrah, cabernet sauvignon and sangiovese with a dash of viognier. Lifted spring blossom, musk, cranberry, wild strawberry and cherry with biscuit notes. Gently creamy on the palate, flavours run even and deep, enhanced by a spiciness and a lively acid drive. $35. 13% alc. Drink: 2025 - 2028"- Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion.
