JJ Hahn is a joint venture between sixth generation Hahn custodians, James and Jacqui Hahn, and the highly regarded Rolf Binder who is responsible for all winemaking duties.
This Homestead Cabernet Sauvignon from JJ Hahn has been a long time favourite of ours and the 2023 vintage is again in fine form. This offers up typically full-bodied Barossa characters of dark berries, bitter chocolate, mulberry, plum pudding and sweet spice. A Barossa red of enormous appeal, this once again highlights how good Barossa Cabernet can be when in the right hands.
"Marananga-sourced cabernet sauvignon. 100% whole berries; 12 day ferment; matured in French oak (15% new) for 16 months. Bright crimson with a rush of blackberry and blackcurrant pastille with hints of dried herbs, dark spice, licorice, cedar, crushed leaf, cherry paste and earth. There's a medium-bodied fruit flow, compact, silty tannins and plenty of vitality and verve on the back end. 91 Points. $35. 14.5% alc. Drink: 2025 - 2035. Screwcap"- Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion.
