Stoney Rise is owned and operated by Joe and Lou Holyman who consistently make some of Tasmania's finest examples of Pinot Noir.
This 2024 Stoney Rise Pinot Noir is made from 100% estate grown grapes for the first time in many years. Another impressive release with wonderful poise and structure, this offers plenty of appeal now however should develop further complexity over the coming years.
"Now 100% estate grown! Tamar Valley. Dark cherry, baked plums, spice, a little mint, with dried herbs and earth. It’s flavoursome, but kind of stony with fine graphite tannin, a subtle beetroot earthiness, empty chocolate box, some orange zest and amaro, with a cocoa and dry grainy finish of good length. It’s a darker and more forceful vintage of this wine, but it does have a fair bit of X-factor. 92 Points Tasted: Mar25. 12% alc. $38 Screwcap. Drink: 2025 - 2030"- Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
