The medium-bodied palate is fruit-driven with layers of blackberry, redcurrant and mocha chocolate, supported by subtle oak and nice a touch of tannin. "Excellent, affordable entry point for the grape variety, and it's a style that offers a different, savoury, earthy take. A quick decant opens it up fully to reveal cassis, with cherry and blue fruits sprinkled in spice and wrapped tightly in gravelly tannins.
