"95 Points. The Porongurup Range is a low slung granite mountain range that gives its name to the local wine region. It also seems to give the best regional wines a very specific character – a stoniness or minerality that help to create some of the best rieslings anywhere in the country, including this one. Pale watery white in colour, there is a powerful core of tight, youthful fruits. Citrus, blossom and then that rocky, salty element with a slightly riper pear element also coming through. It’s only gently aromatic and keeping many of its cards close to the chest right now. What follows is a dry, fresh, spicy and citrus flavoured palate with good impact and again that stony element really lifting it into the stratosphere. Balance is good and the finish long, all of which is very promising for enjoyment over the next decade, although it could do with a couple of years to find its feet. $26. Drink: 2024 - 2032."- Angus Hughson, winepilot.com.

Castle Rock is situated in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, with a reputation for exceptional Rieslings that are elegant in their youth and develop complexity and further palate weight with age.
This 2021 Castle Rock Porongurup Riesling is the 35th vintage of this wine, which has now established itself among Australia's truly great Rieslings. The palate is tightly wound structure that is enveloped by beautiful rich lime juice fruit characters. This fruit richness provides generosity and succulence with the natural acidity adding lovely structure, finesse and length. Lively, crisp and with an attractive delicacy now, this wine will blossom with age.
"97 Points. Draws on six estate blocks; 100% free-run juice. The perfumed apple and lime blossom bouquet doesn’t prepare you for the searing intensity of the slatey acidity and lemon zest palate. This is purity on a grand scale. 11% alc, screwcap. Drink to 2041, $26"- James Halliday, The Weekend Australian, August 21, 2021.
The vineyard is situated 40km north east of Albany and 30km south east of Mount Barker, on a cool and elevated northerly aspect. This results in well ripened cool climate varieties producing intensely flavoured wines.
