Sanguine Estate is a family operated boutique vineyard and winery located in the Heathcote region of Central Victoria, Sanguine's impressive range of Shiraz rarely fail to impress. This 2019 Sanguine Inception Shiraz is another brilliant example, which was awarded 'Best Victorian Shiraz' at the 2021 Saint Martin Oak Great Australian Shiraz Challenge.
A product of a warm vintage that has helped deliver a Heathcote Shiraz with excellent flavour intensity and concentration. A rich and bright aroma of plum and blackberry given further complexity with charred French oak and a hint of liquorice. Juicy rich plum at the core with liquorice and black pepper. A rich textual wine this is a benchmark example of Heathcote Shiraz that is deserving of plenty of attention.
"96 Points. A hot season brought harvest earlier than normal in 2019, but had no impact on the poise and elegance delivered in this wine. It's a beauty. Impressive depth of colour (as usual), opens to reveal fragrant musky, violet, spice and black fruits. Fruit power is well managed by the vibrant spice and oak integration and fine tannins.
