98 Points | Halliday Top 100 Wines 2021
Established in 1982, Scotchmans Hill is located in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula and has long been regarded as one of the region's premier producers. This 2019 Scotchmans Hill Shiraz is a brilliant example of how good Bellarine Peninsula Shiraz can be.
Complex nose of dark plum, ripe cherry aromas, the palate is intensely flavoured yet approachable with an array of red fruits and dark cherries. Finishing with incredible balance and length, this continues the outstanding recent form of Scotchmans Hill Shiraz.
"98 Points. Typical estate vinification: whole bunch, whole berry, cold soak, wild ferment, new and used French oak. The wonder of cool grown shiraz with attention to detail from start to finish, partly the mouth-watering spice and black pepper, licorice and blackberry flavours, part the structure. $42 Screwcap 14.5% alc. Drink to 2049" - James Halliday, Top 100 Wines 2021.
