Grenache is particularly well suited to the Barossa climate due to its ability to withstand extremes of heat, aridity and wind. Made predominantly from grapes grown on Turkey Flat's 100+ year old vineyard, Turkey Flat always deliver a fantastically concentrated and impeccably structured example of Barossa Grenache.
The 2022 Turkey Flat Grenache is another top line example delivering lovely lifted floral notes, fresh fruits and a touch of spiced aromatics. The beautifully structured palate allows the vibrant red fruit flavours to take centre stage, which is supported by some appealing savoury notes, spice and perfectly integrated tannin.
"96 Points. Such a consistently delicious grenache - a regional benchmark, if you will. From 100+-year-old vines, lightly coloured and with a bright, filigreed aromatic profile, the Turkey Flat grenache is always a beautiful wine to drink and a regular on my 'must buy' list. The '22 release doesn't disappoint with its detail and sense of space on the palate, flush with airy red fruits, ginger spice, floral facets, powdery tannins and light meaty tones as the wine fans out on the exit. It's beautiful drinking. Screwcap. 13.2% alc. $45. Drink: 2023 - 2045."- Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion.
"97 Points. This is outstanding; elegant and stylish with richness and structure. The alluring bouquet shows sweet plum, thyme, clove and roasted almond notes, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate that's silky and expansive. It's seamless and soothing with fine layers of grainy tannins, offering excellent frame and structure. The wine exhibits graceful opulence with finesse and harmony, making it irresistibly appealing. At its best: 2026 to 2040"- Sam Kim, Wine Orbit.
