Located on the Mornington Peninsula, Kooyong is a specialist Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producer; their Clonale Chardonnay consistently delivers one of the region's best value examples.
Made from a blend of Chardonnay from Kooyong's estate Tuerong and Balnarring vineyards, the 2025 Kooyong Clonale Chardonnay opens with aromatic purity, showing lime, nectarine and green plum aromas, intertwined with hints of nougat and rolled oats. The wine moves across the palate effortlessly, with soft orchard fruit flavours on the mid-palate. This is backed by delicate lemon and grapefruit acidity that pulls the palate long and taut, with subtle oak support. Another high quality, great value Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay from the team at Kooyong.
"A blend of Kooyong’s Tuerong picked. 14% new French oak. and Balnarring vineyards. HandThis is good. It’s juicy yet quite tight in acidity, has some sour yoghourt and oatmeal in with citrus tang and melon, a fine powdery texture, a lick of spicy cedar oak, slight struck match, with a finish of good intensity and length. Nice. 93 Points"- Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
"While it’s no longer the bargain it once was, it’s still a very good drink. You’d buy it with confidence. It’s not complex, but it’s not simple, with plenty of citrus, stone fruit, cashew-like lees and texture plus acidity to enjoy on its own. 93 Points. $38. 13% alc. Drink: 2026 - 2030. Screwcap"- Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion.
