Best In Show | 97 Points - Decanter World Wine Awards
As the first Riesling vineyard planted in Eden Valley more than 175 years ago, Pewsey Vale has long been considered one of Australia’s pre-eminent Riesling makers. Made from a single-vineyard in the high-altitude Eden Valley, the Pewsey Vale Riesling is renowned for its remarkable consistency; always delivering purity, vibrancy and intense citrus-driven flavours.
The 2025 Pewsey Vale Eden Valley Riesling has been attracting plenty of recent attention after a stellar performance at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards, where it was awarded 'Best In Show' Riesling and a massive 97-point rating.
A classic example of Eden Valley Riesling, this opens with lifted vibrant aromas of fresh limes, white blossom, green apple and hint of dried herb. Light on its feet yet surprisingly complex, the palate features a straight focused line of citrus; lemon pulp, grapefruit, and lime juice. A delicious young Riesling now, this will reward cellaring in the medium to long-term.
"95 Points. What a beautiful example of Eden Valley Riesling is this estate Pewsey Vale wine. The nose is intense lemon with a minerally bath salts character, while the palate has that lemon rind edginess, balancing the deeply intense, linear and focused fruit that emerges from this high-altitude block. It retains a degree of tension with a slightly talcy character, and the finish is long and fine. Excellent wine. $27. Drink: 2025 - 2037"- Ray Jordan, Wine Pilot.
"94 Points. Riesling sourced from a single vineyard way up around 490m elevation in Pewsey Vale. Classic Eden Valley characters from woe to go. Fresh limes, Christmas lily, citrus blossom, crushed stone, lemongrass, Bickford's lime cordial and ozone. Dry, precise and thirst- slakingly good drinking. Super stuff; we all need a bottle of this close at hand when the weather warms up. $28. Drink: 2025 - 2040. Screwcap"- Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion.
