Toolangi has long been regarded as one of the Yarra Valley's finest wineries, with the wines continuing to reach impressive heights under chief winemaker Kaspar Hermann. Hermann's 'site-first' approach allows the vintage and place to dictate rather than forcing a particular style.
After a couple of low-cropping years, the mild and uneventful spring of 2024 saw better flowering and a bounce-back of sorts for yields. The harvest period was warm and even, and the resulting wines are packed full of pure citrus and stone fruit flavours with attractive zesty acidity, delicate spice and a saline flick on the lengthy close. This 2024 Toolangi Paul's Lane Chardonnay is a Yarra Chardonnay of the highest quality; aromatic, rich and weighty with zesty acid cut and ripe, pure fruit flavours balanced by lovely sweet spice and a delicate saline flick on the finish. A wine that is already attracting plenty of attention, our limited allocation will not last long.
