John and Eithne Lagan arrived at Margaret River in 1968, first planting their vineyard in 1977. The Lagans planted the first vines in what is now one of the region’s oldest vineyards. Xanadu has a long history of producing wines of distinction, with loads of varietal and regional characteristics.
Today, Xanadu stands among the finest and most consistent Margaret River wineries, with their Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends among the standouts.
A winner of countless rave reviews and wine show awards, Xanadu achieved one of Australia's highest wine honours, when it was award the 2018 Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy. The winning wine was the 2016 Xanadu Estate Cabernet Sauvignon; as judged the best one or two-year-old dry red wine at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show.
