96 Points | Gold - 2021 Adelaide Wine Show (RRP $25)
Located on the banks of the Murray River in north-western Victoria, Andrew Peace is one of the great success stories of the region. This 2019 Andrew Peace Swan Hill Shiraz was released to commemorate the 25th vintage of Andrew Peace Wines, which today stands as one of Australia's largest wine exporters and family-owned wine businesses.
This 2019 Andrew Peace Swan Hill Shiraz was a standout performer at the 2021 Royal Adelaide Wine Show, receiving a Gold Medal (96 Points) from the expert judging panel. A rich, well weighted Shiraz, this delivers plenty of upfront jammy red fruit, blackcurrant, dark cherry and mulberry flavours, with some well-measured American and French oak influence.
A Shiraz with wide appeal in the short to medium-term, this 96 Point, Gold Medal wine delivers great value at this price.
"Twenty five years is a long time in the wine game with this wine coming from Andrew Peace’s 25th vintage. It is only right that this commemorative wine comes from the region of Swan Hill which is this brand’s spiritual home. It is deeply coloured and immediately displays hallmarks of wines from a warm climate with its deep colour combined with rich and vibrant dark plummy fruit on top of which are touches of dark cherry and spice. It’s a big red on the palate - bone dry and full-bodied with layers of plush dark fruits and liquorice supported by supple tannins and finishing with decent length too. A fitting wine to celebrate 25 years and also a great match with flame-grilled rump steak. $25. 90 Points. Drink 2020-2024."- Angus Hughson, winepilot.com.
