95 Points - Nick Ryan
Castle Rock is situated in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, with a reputation for exceptional Rieslings that are elegant in their youth and develop complexity and further palate weight with age.
This 2024 Castle Rock Porongurup Riesling is the 38th vintage of this wine, which has now established itself among Australia's truly great Rieslings. The palate is tightly wound structure that is enveloped by beautiful rich lime juice fruit characters. This fruit richness provides generosity and succulence with the natural acidity adding lovely structure, finesse and length. Lively, crisp and with an attractive delicacy now, this wine will blossom with age.
"95 Points, “If, as many say, riesling is the purest transmitter of terroir that we know, then there’s no better way to tell the compelling story of Western Australia’s remote Porongurup region than through the achingly pure and expressive wines produced by the Diletti family of Castle Rock. Citrussy, alluring floral and a kinetic minerality are at play here. Coiled power and astonishing length.”- Nick Ryan, The Australian Magazine Top 100 Wines.
