Domaine Naturaliste is the project of highly acclaimed winemaker Bruce Dukes. After twenty five years of applying his craftsmanship to international and local producers, Dukes launched his own range of wines named after the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge; the dominant land form of viticultural significance in Margaret River.
Domaine Naturaliste's Discovery Cabernet Sauvignon has a long held reputation as one of Margaret River's most reliable and best value examples of Cabernet. This 2022 vintage is another beautifully poised, balanced and approachable example. Bursting with aromas of cassis, red cherries and bright red fruit underpinned by a seamless palate of raspberries, plum skin, bright red fruits and silky, textured tannin on the finish.
"93 Points. Jam-packed with regional and varietal aromas and flavours, so this is instantly appealing. Still in its primary phase, with blackberries, currants and mulberries, no new oak used, but there’s still plenty of cedary oak spice at play, plus mint, bay leaves and dark chocolate studded with licorice. Full bodied, with ripe, velvety tannins, this offers terrific drinking at a good price. Ready now or will age with ease."- Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion.
"There’s a splash of Malbec and Merlot here. Beautiful, pristine flavour, mulberry and boysenberry, a note of sweet tobacco, maybe a hint of fig, effortless drinking, pure, fruity with dark chocolate tannins, all very fine. Lovely wine, well-priced too. Rated: 93 Points. Tasted: Oct25. 14% alc. $28. Screwcap. Drink: 2025 - 2030"- Kasia Sobiesiak, The Wine Front.
