Always one of the most popular Margaret River Cabernet releases, the 2017 Domaine Naturaliste Rebus Cabernet Sauvignon is again in fine form. A well weighted and approachable Cabernet, aromas of violets and cherries lead to flavours of red currants, liquorice, cacao and plum. Tannin and subtle quality oak add complexity with the wine finishing with impressive length.
"94 Points. Blueberry, cherry pie, charcoal, nori, sage and spice. It’s medium-bodied or a little above, dense and packed with dark cherry, bitter chocolate and dried herb, tannin is rich with a slate texture, tangy fresh blackberry acidity, thick and rumbling on a long and thoroughly regional finish, with some bush perfume trailing. Sports that tension that many 2017 Margaret River Cabs show. Excellent. Tannin a highlight. Tasted: Feb20 14% alc. $35 Screwcap Drink: 2020 - 2028+" - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
Domaine Naturaliste is the project of highly experienced winemaker Bruce Dukes. After twenty five years of applying his craftsmanship to international and local producers, Dukes launched his own range of wines named after the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge; the dominant land form of viticultural significance in Margaret River.
