95 Points - Jane Faulkner
Domaine Naturaliste is the project of highly acclaimed winemaker Bruce Dukes. After twenty five years of applying his craftsmanship to international and local producers, Dukes launched his own range of wines named after the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge; the dominant land form of viticultural significance in Margaret River.
Always one of the most popular Margaret River Cabernet releases, the 2024 Domaine Naturaliste Rebus Cabernet Sauvignon is another generously weighted yet approachable Margaret River Cabernet. Opening with beautiful aromatics, this is packed with loads of blackberry, redcurrant, milk chocolate and plum flavours. Impeccably structured, with quality oak and subtle tannins, this is an impressive release that will once again prove hugely popular.
"95 Points. Such a consistently excellent wine in terms of quality and price. While this is a tad nervy from youth, it opens beautifully in the glass; all the elements are there for this to age well. It also has a decent glug, from the 10% cabernet franc in the mix. Opens with mulberries and cassis, all rich and ripe with a dusting of baking spices, dark chocolate, some freshly roasted coffee beans and cedary oak, too. It's concentrated, yet the full-bodied palate is supple and smooth, with finely tuned textural tannins. Drink: 2027 - 2040. 14% alc. $40"- Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion.
