97 Points | "A drop-dead bargain" - James Halliday
The 2019 Dominique Portet Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec is a new cuvee, which sits between Portet's popular Fontaine range and their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. A wonderful example of the style that made the Yarra Valley famous, this blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Malbec delivers a medium-bodied, complex and impeccably structured red wine with a long life ahead of it.
"97 Points. 93/7% cabernet/ malbec. Hand-picked fruit, berry sorted and crushed. On skins for 22 days. Matured 14 months in French oak (30% new). Bright, clear colour; this is about as good as one could get from the Yarra Valley in a medium-bodied frame, its purity is wonderful. A drop-dead bargain. Screwcap. 13.5% alc. To 2034. $38." - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion 2022.
