This 2019 Down To Earth Sauvignon Blanc is made from a parcel of Sauvignon Blanc from Terre à Terre's 'Crayères' vineyard, which is located next to Tapanappa’s famous Whalebone vineyard, at the top of a north-south limestone ridge in Wrattonbully. Made with plenty of care and meticulous winemaking techniques, this is fresh and approachable upon release but delivers an intensity and subtle complexity rarely found in this variety.
"96 Points. Hand-picked, part whole-bunch pressed, 40% fermented in large foudres and demi-muids, the balance crushed and destemmed and cool-fermented in stainless steel. The bouquet and palate hunt together as one, stone fruit and citrus neatly trimmed by fresh acidity. Distinctive style. Screwcap. 13.5%. To 2024. $26"- James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion 2021.
