EKIN Wine Co. was born from the grassroots passion of two vineyard veterans, Brad and Mark - wine people first, business people by necessity. In the thick of the 2021 vintage, they found themselves harvesting far beyond expectations, with high-quality fruit at risk of being left to waste. Refusing to let good grapes go unused, the duo sprang into action. What began as a favour for mates turned into something bigger: a wine label forged from camaraderie, hustle, and deep respect for the vineyards they help bring to life.
The 2024 EKIN Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir is a cool-climate Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir offering lovely lifted aromatics of bright red fruits, floral lift and hints of charcuterie. Made in EKIN's fresh, expressive style, the palate delivers plenty of red cherry and raspberry flavours along with some fine spice and subtle lovely tannin.
"There’s a distinct, minty and herbal lift to this wine, almost amaro-like, definitely leaning into vermouth botanical territory, and then the red currants, wild raspberry and tart cherry cavalcade. Crisp edges, cool and breezy, sweet-sour fruited, fresh and an edgy finish. This is a lot of fun, refreshing and bright. A good chill and watch it fly. 13% alc. $25. Drink: 2026 - 2028. Screwcap"- Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion.
