Giant Steps has forged a reputation as one of the Yarra Valley's leading wineries, with their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay consistently among the nation's finest examples.
The 2025 Giant Steps Chardonnay is again an incredibly delicious Yarra Valley Chardonnay packed with white peach, fresh melons flavours and a citrus edge, supported by well integrated, quality French oak (15% new, 85% seasoned). A perennial favourite, this new release is sure to again be hugely popular.
"95 Points. An even split of Upper and lower Yarra fruit; both estate grown and from growers. 20% new oak. Brightly coloured. An immediate and attractive bouquet of white nectarine, lemon verbena, a little flint and salted almonds. Brightly fruited, with vibrant acidity that gives the wine freshness and energy. Drink now and over the next three to four years. 12.8% alc. Drink: 2026 - 2029"- Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion.
"94 Points. What a delicious expression of cool-climate chardonnay this wine presents. For value and for quality you could ask for little more. It’s squeaky with flavour, of the peach and citrus and grapefruit kind, with pear, brine and roasted nut characters also present - but a long way from being dangerous. It sounds boring - it’s not – but cohesion and balance are the heroes here. It’s a wine of tension, flavour, complexity and spread, and of a bit extra too, but none of these assets is pushed too hard. Absolutely Yes on this one."- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
