Giant Steps has forged a reputation as one of the Yarra Valley's leading wineries, with their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay consistently among the nation's finest examples. This newly released 2020 Giant Steps Yarra Valley Chardonnay follows in the footsteps of recent vintages of this wine that have proved hugely popular.
Like much of Australia, 2020 proved a challenging vintage for winemakers in the Yarra Valley. Lower than average yields for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, primarily driven by tighter, smaller bunches - the consequence of which is naturally high acidity and incredible bright flavours.
This is again an incredibly delicious Yarra Valley Chardonnay packed with white peach, fresh melons flavours and a citrus edge, supported by well integrated, quality French oak (90% old). A perennial favourite, this new release is sure to again be hugely popular.
"The GS welcome matt is rolled out with this wine! Juicy, bright citrus and stone fruit characters, licks of salty nuts and faint honeyed toast. Rolls around the palate with a sense of high refreshment and pristine, youthful, tight-skinned green grapines – you know, pluck a berry off the bunch straight out of the fridge and chomp. That kind of deal. Such a delight to drink, super easy to drink, a little polish and spit shine and we’re here! Nice one.
