This is a classic, tried-and-tested Barossa combination that has always produced super wines over the years. Once again, as with these Glaetzer wines, there’s plenty of old fruit involved, with vines up to 100 years old for the Shiraz and 130 years old for the Cabernet. After fermentation, the wine was matured for 16 months in all-new oak hogsheads, 92% French and 8% American. The colour is deep, super deep. On the nose there are concentrated, almost raisin-like characters with blackberry, dark plum, and aromatic herbs and black pepper. The palate is plush and rich, with a density of dark berries and rich chocolate, perfectly crafted and seamlessly integrated.
