Trophy Best Single Varietal White | 96 Points - 2019 RMWS
Hahndorf Hill are pioneers of Gruner Veltliner in Australia and a driving force behind the rising popularity of this native Austrian variety locally. The 2019 Hahndorf Hill 'White Mischief' Gruner Veltliner was a star performer at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Wine Show where it was awarded a Gold Medal (96 Points) and took out a major trophy for 'Best Single Varietal White'.
A top class example of Australian Gruner Veltliner, this offers typically lifted aromatics with both the nose and palate brimming with complex and vibrant citrus, spice, ruby grapefruit, stone fruit and exotic tropicals. These long and intense flavours are all held together and balanced by a juicy acidity and subtle textural undertones.
"95 Points. Made in a New World fruit-driven style emphasising a broad range of varietal primary fruits. Hand-picked, chilled for 24 hours in small slotted bins, pressed, free-run fermented separately from the pressings then blended back to provide textural play, left on gross lees for a time. $24.00 Date when tasted 21 Dec 2019 13% alc.
