Located on the Mornington Peninsula, Kooyong Estate is a specialist cool climate producer with their Chardonnay always a standout among an impressive array of wines.
The Kooyong Estate Chardonnay is produced from grapes grown on Kooyong's Faultline and Farrago blocks. It offers an overall expression of the Kooyong vineyard and achieves a remarkable consistency of style each vintage.
This 2019 Kooyong Estate Chardonny opens with complex aromas of lemon curd, white florals, mandarin and cashew. The palate is deftly weighted, with great length and power that combines bright citrus acidity with persistent stone fruit flavours. Another wonderful example of Kooyong Chardonnay that will no doubt only improve with time in bottle.
"93 Points. It's easy to sit back and chill out with this in hand. It's layered with white stone fruit, grapefruit and a sprinkling of cinnamon and ginger. Good energy to the palate, tangy acidity and integrated oak adding some depth and flavour. 13.5% alc. Drink by: 2028" - Jane Faulkner, winecompanion.com.au.
One of the standout wineries of Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, Kooyong Estate released its first wines in 2001.
Owner by the Gjergja family, Kooyong Estate is housed at the impressive and state-of-the-art winery of Port Phillip Estate - it is here that Kooyong make their impressive range of wines.
Kooyong is well-known for their Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with their 'entry-level' Clonale Chardonnay and Massale Pinot Noir regularly delivering excellent value-for-money.
