One of Australia’s most humble and innately talented winemakers, Luke Lambert consistently produces a stunning array of Yarra Valley wines. Lambert believes the shape of a wine should be governed by what soil you’re on, the aspect, the amount of sunshine and rain.” In other words, the personality of a wine will be dictated by its “place”.
We're delighted to welcome this highly anticipated 2023 Lambert's Crudo Shiraz; a cool-climate Shiraz that always attracts plenty of attention. Showcasing all the youthful and vibrant charm we have come to expect from a Lambert Shiraz, As always, Luke takes a no-frills approach in the cellar. The fruit was destemmed, and spontaneous fermentation occurred in an old 5,000-litre oak cask before being bottled without fining or filtration. The results are super impressive: it’s a high-toned, captivating, layered Shiraz, svelte and silky in weight with deep dark fruits mingled with spicy pepper notes and earthy complexity.
"93 Points. Juicy, creamy, spicy, cracked pepper with red and blue fruits, maybe some violet? This is an unusually affable and approachable wine for Crudo, and gee, I like it for that. A little bit meaty, fennel and berries, a good grind of black pepper, smudgy tannin, with a lively finish of good length. Excellent.
