Best Red Blend - 2024 Royal Adelaide 2024 Wine Show
Majella's The Musician has established itself as one of Australia's most popular red wines, always delivering a great example of the classic Aussie blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. This latest release has been widely acclaimed on the wine show circuit, including picking up Trophy for Best Red Blend at the 2024 Royal Adelaide 2024 Wine Show.
A blend of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon (69%) and Shiraz (31%), the 2022 Majella The Musician is a typically full-flavoured red wine with wide appeal. Packed with plenty of delicious blackcurrant, plum and raspberry flavours along with a nice touch of savoury tannin, this is another super value offering from Majella.
"93 Points. Blackberries, raspberries and summer strawberries. Pomegranate and juniper berries. Woodsy herbs, rosemary, picked thyme and sage leaf. A touch of allspice and clove studs. Nicely integrated to showcase the plushness of shiraz and upright tannins and frame of cabernet sauvignon. It's a wine that you won't mistake for any other region and is a benchmark of a great, very affordable Coonawarra blend. 14.5% Alc. Drink 2023-2040"- Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion
"93 Points. Long been a personal favourite as a wine which drinks beautifully, ages well, shows how good the great Aussie red blend (Cabernet Shiraz) can be and focuses on the best of Coonawarra. In addition, it is always cracking value. The blend of this vintage is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Shiraz. This is fresh and fruit forward, and utterly delicious. It does not hurt that it comes from an absolutely brilliant vintage for the region. The colour is a shining blood red, while the nose reveals spices, blackberries, a flick of mint, bergamot, raspberries, cold tea and cherries. This is a wine of medium weight with good acidity running the full journey. Well balanced, with focus and finesse, this is an elegant style with a lingering finish. So much to like here. It will drink well for a decade, but I can’t imagine that too much will still remain after the first few years. Ridiculous value. Drink 2025-2035"- Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot
